i'm writing in here in between sociology & occupational performance homework. i just read a really boring article for 40 minutes on modernity. gahhh. hot cross buns and coke zero are pretty much the only things keeping me going right now.

a plus for today; i got a call from my area network co-ordinator for work, and i start on the 4th of april! i am so happy it's finally set in stone. i will be working with adults, however, and i thought i was working with kids but it doesn't really bother me, i need all the experience i can get i guess.

this weekend should be tops. hopefully going out thursday, friday and saturday. dunno what i'm doing for the rest of the long weekend, but i have the whole next week off! yessssssss. can't wait.

xx

i would like to post pictures from mardi gras (last saturday), but i haven't got around to it yet. maybe someday. despite the early starts, public transport & 5 day week, i am really loving uni life (although it's only been one week). having gab there has made it a lot easier, i think. pretty much everyone i've met is nice & down to earth/easy to talk to, so that's good. & just for the record, there's about 5000 people at my campus and the ratio of girls to guys is around 4:1, haha. i got my job contract mailed to me the other day, so it will be coming together soon, hopefully.
lidcombe is a funny place. gaby and i seem to find stuff to laugh at within seconds of getting there. this morning on the coastie train, there was a man sitting in the corner in a really deep sleep with his mouth wide open. i saw gaby pissing herself, but i didn't realise until after we got off the train that she was laughing at the massive praying mantis that was on his neck. i looked through the window and saw it, and we laughed about that all day pretty much. opposite the uni is the southern hemisphere's largest cemetery, and around every corner is a grave stone wholesaler, oh and you can't miss the "gentleman's retreat", opposite the station. lovely. i wouldn't be surprised to see the odd tumbleweed every now and then, either :)

NEWS!

I got the job I applied for a couple of weeks ago, working as a carer in respite homes with disabled kids! So excited. I won't be starting for at least a couple of weeks though, because I still have to do all this paperwork. LAME. However, when I do work, man the pay's going to be awesome. $19 something p/h plus casual loading! Niiice. O-week starts tomorrow, I'm going with Tegan & we're just going to suss it out. Mine & Gaby's actual orientation at our campus is on Thursday, then the last day of O-week is on Friday, so Gab & I will go again to main campus. Should be good. Perhaps mardi gras on Saturday? Lectures start next Monday. Finally I'll be back into a routine! Oh, and I got my timetable yesterday, it's literally full time... yikes. Thursdays & Fridays finish at 12 though so that's okay. Some of my lectures start at 8, meaning I have to be out the door by 7... Jeeeesus.

this weekend was a lot of fun. friday night was tegan's party, which me & bree went to for a little bit, then daniel dropped us off at the station. however just as bree was buying her ticket and i was struggling to hold the train door open to stop them from leaving, the assholes drove off. so bree let them have it, hahaha. we got on a train 15 mins later then we met the others at chatswood & continued into king's cross to go to candy's apartment. it was a good night. me, gaby & jaiden met will-i-am from the black eyed peas (i didn't know it was him until after i said hey & hi-fived him), so that was exciting, and then there was this psycho guy in the middle of the street trying to fight with everyone. he seriously looked like someone from mortal combat... he was in slow mo. then he got on our bus, and started abusing everyone so i secretly filmed it. paparazzi.
saturday i slept most of, then soph picked me up and we got annabelle, then went to get chef's noodles from hornsby & some dvd's. oh lordy those noodles were tasty. we watched "mr brooks" & "club dread".
also, we got a new camera. a canon ixus70. yay, i love canons. this one is pretty good for a digicompact. so i'll throw in a few photos from it.

PS: bree, thanks for the gossip CD!
&... air is $1oo at the opera house, and queens of the stone age are $85. what am i to do? :(

sometimes, i'll walk out into the kitchen to grab something and i'll see mum in her chair with the dogs, asleep. then i'll wonder if any noise i make comes up in her dreams... you know how sometimes what you hear shapes your dreams?
INTERESTING. food for thought. yes.
i was just reading entries from past ljs, i was such a tool haha.
anywayz, yesterday myself and brena caught public transport consisting of a bus + train + foot (because of bloody trackwork) to TROPFEST! the world's biggest festival of films. our bus driver looked like a serial killer, so that was fun.
we met up with soph, claud, nicky and shamore when we got there and had ourselves a little cosy spot in the rain. oh and where were you jaiden? hmmm?

there should be some website that generates song lyrics for you, but genuinely good ones that make sense and are flowing.
